About Your Session
Child PortraitsFollowing are some helpful tips to ensure you have a great experience with your photo shoot. If you have any questions beyond these, feel free to shoot me a message here!
How to prepare?
Make sure you don’t wait until the last minute!
• Do some searches on Pinterest for inspiration
• Send me photos via FB, Pinterest or text so that we can nail down the look of your session
• Let me know where you would prefer the pictures to be taken at
• Be certain not to schedule your photoshoot around you child’s naptime or bedtime, and make sure they are well fed before they come! When they’re full, they’re happy!
What to wear?
You want your child’s outfits to make them feel happy and comfortable, but also cute!
• If your dream session is soft and elegant, choose neutral colors with soft, flowing fabrics! Think creams, very soft pastels, oatmeals, light browns, tans, grays, and slate blues
• If you are wanting a more fun, bright and spunky session, go for bold colors and fun accessories like scarves, headbands, hats, etc.!
“Say No” to the  following!
• Bright white doesn’t photograph well
• Shirts with logos or big pictures or prints
• Wild patterns distract from you
• Make sure outfits are free of wrinkles, stains, and rips/holes
What to bring?
• Your child, fully rested and fed!
• Their outfits on hangers to prevent wrinkles
• Extra hair supplies (just in case!)
• Water bottle and snacks
• Some of their favorite things!
The little details!
• Make sure they have fresh/clean nails!
• It’d be best not to try any new hairstyles the day before or day of your shoot. It’s suggested to give a new haircut at least a week before the photoshoot.
Props to make sure your photos are unique with your own special touch!
• Things that your child enjoys! Toys, books, hobby items, etc.
• Let me know if there are any other props that you would like to have in your photos!
I hope these tips have been helpful for you! If you haven’t already, reach out to schedule an appointment!
